What genre do you write?
I write Jane Austen FanFiction (JAFF). These are romance novels based on the characters and plots of Jane Austen’s novels. JAFF novels are often set in Regency England, and most are based on Pride & Prejudice.
Which types of stories do you prefer?
I particularly enjoy stories of the paranormal—particularly those that involve magic and/or warping of time and/or space.
What are your thoughts about AI?
While there are some things that generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is useful for, I don’t like it for creative works, and I personally don’t use it for any of my writing.
At this point, GenAI books are inferior to books written by humans. The fact that the market is flooded with terrible GenAI novels makes it much more difficult to find good ones written by people. Also, many of the works that have been used to train Large Learning Models (LLMs) were not in the public domain, which means authors were not compensated for having their “voice” stolen and added to the GenAI melting pot.
I run a book club and would like to feature your novel.
I get messages saying this almost daily. All of them have turned out to be marketing gimmicks inviting me to pay a “modest fee” for access to a large audience of readers.
JAFF is a niche market with a few thousand readers. It is easy via social media to make a majority of JAFF readers aware of my books; most of these readers already know about my books, and most of the ones who are interested have already read them.
I am not willing to spend money on these types of schemes, because in a niche market, the returns never cover the costs
I would like to feature you or one of your books on my blog or podcast.
I am always happy to participate, as long as it’s not “pay-to-play”. Please send me a message via my Contact page and I’ll be happy to discuss details.
What are you working on right now?
You can find a list of my current projects as well as my published books on my Books & Stories page.
