Rewinding Time is a Pride & Prejudice variation in which Darcy and Elizabeth separately (and unbeknownst to each other) find themselves in possession of a potion that enables them to travel back one hour in time. The potion enables Darcy and Elizabeth to go back and change their mistakes, sometimes only to make new and different ones, and occasionally with farcical results. You will enjoy reading multiple variations of some of your favorite scenes from Pride & Prejudice, much more than Darcy or Elizabeth will enjoy experiencing them…

What readers are saying:

★★★★★ I ardently adore JAFF books with fantasy and magical themes, which includes time travel. This book is very inventive relating to the possible changes that could occur with a one hour “backstroke” in the river of time. I think most readers cheer when Elizabeth immediately retaliates to Darcy’s Meryton Assembly insult with her saucy wit, and she has the opportunity to do just that very well in this variation. Both D and E learn more about each other and gain wisdom from their time travel jaunts. I was a little nervous towards the end when Wickham complicates things, but justice wins out. This is a wonderful first published work by this author. I hope his imagination spurs him on to keep writing.

★★★★☆ It was a fun read, though I could not completely suspend my disbelief at the concept of the time potion. It was a good story though – I couldn’t put it down. I am looking forward to more of your work in the future!

★★★★★ I had thoughts about where and how exactly the potion would be used. While I was sometimes in the ballpark, I was happily surprised at how the scenes played out, and the depth it gave our view of our favorite couple. I think more of us could use the idea of “turning back the clock” to talk through our disagreements more easily. Highly recommend!

★★★★☆ I enjoyed this story, and it was a quick read without heavy angst.

★★★★★ I thoroughly enjoyed this take on the story, and the idea was beautifully developed, in my opinion. I would recommend it to anybody who enjoys magical takes of Miss Austen stories.

★★★★★ The book is in some parts rather witty. I like Mr Bennet’s comments and Elizabeth’s encounter with Lady Catherine led me to laugh out loud several times, even when the end of the first encounter was quite unexpected.

If you like a story where Darcy and Elizabeth are, with the help of a potion, able to correct their statements and behaviour and with this have a better understanding of each other, you should definitely read this book.

★★★★★ What a fabulous new variation. At first I worried I would feel a little like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day and feel bored of repetition, but every time I cringed inwardly at the original Austen events I was excited to travel back with our dear couple to see a different outcome.

There is a thrilling climax to this novel featuring the potential Lydia/Wickham elopement that had me on the edge of my seat.

I highly recommend it.

★★★★★ Cute and funny, with a lot of heart! This is a sweet book that imagines what could happen if Darcy and Elizabeth had a magic potion that would let them go back in time one hour. Perfect for Groundhog Day, or any time you just need a fell-good boost!

★★★★★ A fun read, with a bit of magic and some humor as our dear couple turn back time to correct errors made and fix things such as disparaging comments at the Assembly. I won’t add spoilers. Read this book. It will make you smile, and even chuckle.

★★★★★ I thoroughly enjoyed this take on the story, and the idea was beautifully developed, in my opinion. I would recommend it to anybody who enjoys magical

Saint Elizabeth and the Dragon is a 5000-word Pride & Prejudice-inspired short story, in which Elizabeth and her sisters write a mummer’s play for a Boxing Day celebration at Netherfield Park.  The story was published on Jane Austen’s birthday (December 16), 2025 as part of Christmas Celebrations 2025: Short Stories of Jane Austen Fan Fiction, Sixth Anthology, edited by Cristy Huelsz.  (Note: the dragon is a common role in English mummer’s plays.  There are no actual dragons in the story.)

Courting By the Book is a dazzling, Jane Austen–inspired anthology that blends the wit of Pride and Prejudice, the alternate realities of The Midnight Library, and the transformative repetition of Groundhog Day into one unforgettable adventure.
When Darcy and Elizabeth are drawn into a mysterious collection of fictional Austen-inspired novels—each crafted by one of eleven authors (listed at the bottom of this post)—they find themselves swept through a series of wildly different worlds. Each story becomes a new reality: new settings, new tropes, new challenges. From sweeping romance and heart-tugging angst to high adventure, magic, and even the supernatural, every chapter tests their love in unexpected ways.
Though not a traditional time-loop tale, Darcy and Elizabeth follow a tangled thread, in which the life-shaping events of each chapter are but ephemeral memories, as if from dreams. Our heroes learn, grow, and confront their flaws, and each chapter offers another chance to choose better, love deeper, and become the partners they are meant to be.
With each chapter written in the distinct voice and style of its contributing author, this anthology guides our beloved couple through imaginative twists and daring reinventions, all leading toward the ultimate prize: their hard-won happily ever after.
Hold tight to your books, e-readers, or listening devices, and prepare for a Pride and Prejudice variation unlike anything you’ve experienced before. The journey through these pages is as unpredictable as it is enchanting—and once you step into the first story, there’s no turning back.
After covering expenses related to production and marketing, proceeds will be donated to Jane Austen-related charities.

Works in Progress (WIP)

Guardian Angels is a work in progress (WIP).  The book is a novella inspired by the writings of Jane Austen, Terry Pratchett, and Donald Westlake. The story is a Pride & Prejudice vagary that follows Darcy and Elizabeth and their respective guardian angels, Poindexter and Hortense, who are tasked with bringing about the marriage of ODC (“our dear couple”). Unfortunately, the angels are much more skilled at getting in the way of the otherwise burgeoning romance than they are at encouraging it.

Meanwhile, a village outside of Meryton, dubbed “Much Adieu,” has been turned into a parole depot for captured officers of the French army, overseen by a militia unit stationed near Meryton. The militia utilizes new recruit George Wickham’s skills by having him socialize with the French captives and report his findings. Of course, Darcy, Elizabeth and the angels become entangled in the intrigue, and the situation goes from bad to worse before arriving at their improbable happily ever after (HEA).

The first draft is finished, but it was shelved in favor of other projects.  I hope to get back to it and publish in late 2026 or early 2027.

Symphony is a fantasy JAFF novel set in the world of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, in which magical energy can be created and directed through music.  Darcy is a talented conductor of both music and magic, tasked with conducting performances to raise magical energy to support the British armies in the Napoleonic Wars.  Elizabeth is a composer with a talent for writing music that evokes magic, at a time when women were not accepted in musical circles.  The pair are thrown together when Elizabeth is commissioned to write a piece for the Philharmonic Society, to be conducted by Darcy.  The couple must overcome the usual obstacles as well as some unusual ones as they ultimately find their “happily-ever-after”.

There is no expected publication date at this point, but I am hoping to finish it in the summer of 2027.
